Prior to joining the Orchestra in 1968, he performed with resident string ensembles and orchestras in Tampa, Syracuse, and the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra. For many years he was an affiliated faculty member of the University of Minnesota, and, with a leave of absence from the Minnesota Orchestra in 1981-82, he taught viola at the Oberlin Conservatory. Several works have been premiered by the Minnesota Orchestra: Le Chat Noir: Divertimento for Three Bassoons and Orchestra; Fanfare Beethoveniana; and Improvisations for Double Bass and Chamber Orchestra.
