African-American work song.
Since Rocks on the Mountains is an African-American work song, I’ve written the arrangement to be heavy and full of noise from the piano. In measures 3-20, the syllable “Huh!” should be the kind of low, forceful, unpitched sound that a person would make when swinging a sledge hammer. The tempo should be very deliberate.
