For the Jerome Foundation.
Jerome Hill’s Canary Music, written in 2005 as part of the Jerome Hill Centennial Celebration, is an elaboration of two melodies composed by Mr. Hill in the late ‘50s for one of his film projects. Both tunes are whimsical, one vaguely tango-ish, the other a gigue. I gave them both to a flute and accompanied it with harpsichord, a favorite instrument of this painter, filmmaker, photographer, composer and generous supporter of the arts.
