Adon Olam Variations

Adon Olam Variations was written for the First Unitarian Society Orchestra. As a gesture to Uri Barnea, their director and fellow grad student at the University of Minnesota, I chose as my theme one of the many melodies to which the Jewish hymn “Adon Olam” text is sung. The hymn proclaims God’s sovereignty and eternity, and is traditionally sung at the end of Shabbat services and daily morning prayers.
