Fantasia TON-Y-BOTEL

Fantasia TON-Y-BOTEL was commissioned by the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis as part of an ongoing series supported by the Charles Sigmund Music Fund. It is based on the Welsh hymn tune also known as “Once to Every Man and Nation,” and takes the melody through many fragmentations, convolutions and Shenkerian skeletons before coalescing into a recognizable final statement.
